Per 100 g, the foods highest in vitamin B12 on our list are beef liver (83 µg), mussels (24 µg) and mackerel (19 µg). Vitamin B12 is needed for red blood cells and nerves and is found almost only in animal foods, so vegans need fortified foods or a supplement. The daily value is 2.4 µg.
